Great lunch spot in the West Loop if you're looking for a sandwich that will stuff you like a Thanksgiving turkey. I hit up Nonnas on my lunch break. Pro-Tip: order your sandwich for pick up 15 minutes before lunch as they take time to prepare and the waiting area is teeny tiny. The eggplant parmesean is my favorite. The bread has a nice crunch while still remaining soft and the eggplant is dry. My meat eating sister switched from chicken parm to the eggplant because she felt the chicken was dry and you don't get extra marinara with the chicken. I will say the portion of chicken on the sandwich is more then enough.
I am a big momma but I learned I need to eat only half of the eggplant parm because I'll be sleeping facedown on my keyboard at work with a food baby if I dare eat the entire sandwich.
Nonnas is a small spot as an extension of Formentos for lunch. In the summer you can get a spot outside. There are around 8 spots to eat inside. Taking it to-go is the way to go.
Tomato basil soup is yummmmmmmy! -

In need of a super filling lunch spot in the West Loop? Look no further!
Located on the backside of Formentos, Nonna's is the fast-casual yet still made super fresh to order sister, that promises a tasty and very filling lunch sub! Came here by recommendation of a friend who works in the West Loop one Tuesday afternoon. The interior is small, but cute. They've got just one large marble table in the center, so if you're dining with more than one or two, would recommend just grabbing to-go.
I took the Chicken Parmesan sandwich, and oh boy was it good! Thick, tender cut of chicken, coated in a light breadcrumb batter, covered in thick, flavorful marinara, and topped with warm gooey mozzarella cheese! Do I need say more? It was HUGE too! The bread to chicken ratio may have been a little off, and although the warm baguette was divine, I did eat one half open faced so I could savor the chicken more without the additional extra bread.
Nonna's is the perfect lunch spot, where you're not sacrificing quantity for quality. Come here hungry, leave happy. I'll definitely be returning to Nonna's soon! -

Nonna's is an adorable little restaurant in the West Loop if you're looking for a quick, casual meal. There is limited seating so I would suggest doing take out. You can also order ahead of time on Ritual.
I'm obsessed with how good the meatball and chicken parmigiana sandwiches were! The meatballs on the sandwich were huge and the giardiniera on top added a nice kick to the flavor. The chicken parm was full of melted mozzarella cheese...does it get any better that?!
I can't wait to come back and try a slice of pizza! -

Came to Nonna on a Sunday afternoon after confessing my sins to the Lord Jesus for all the gluttony I have committed in 2019. Lol. I was craving a quick bite, and honestly it's hard to find that in the west loop as most places are sit down, but Nonna showed up on my search for a delicious Sunday lunch. I saw the menua at Nonna and immediately knew what I wanted to get, the Meatball sandwich and a slice of pizza. Again, I'll have to confess my sins of gluttony next Sunday haha.
The inside is really small, there's not much seating available. The meatball sandwich was huge. The peppers were a great touch and most importantly it was pretty cheesy. I would rate this sandwich a 4 out of 5. Also got a slice of pizza. I was expecting a standard New York slice but it's not like that at all. It's one of those square pieces, Detroit style? No complaints about the taste of the pizza. Every bite was delicious even though it wasn't very cheesy or anything. My only gripe was that the slice was $5. All in all, if you're looking for something quick, and a good tasty Italian lunch or dinner, I highly recommend this place. I'll be back for sure after I confess my sins of gluttony on Sundays. -

Perfect for a quick, casual lunch or dinner.
Dine in, carry out, or delivery available. There's a cute little patio with a communal table when Chicago's finicky weather is cooperating :)
Recommendations:
-PEPPERONI SLICE. I love bread so I like how the dough is thicker and soft almost like focaccia hehe and I like how their pepperoni is thick and not dinky flimsy. They can warm up the slice for you if you're enjoying it there.
-NONNA'S MEATBALL SUB. My favorite meatballs! Flavorful and tender. They don't skimp on the sandwich fillings here.
-PORK BELLY PORCHETTA. A warm sammich with garlic aioli, pickled red onions, and arugula. So good!
-CHOCOLATE CAKE. Same chocolate cake served at Formento's. It's exceptional. One bite and you'll understand.
-Grab an OATMEAL RAISIN COOKIE and / or a CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE by the register. Large, soft, chewy. Yum!
